(Altoona, Iowa) -- Altoona police say a man is facing attempted murder charges after stabbing his fiancé's brother at a motel last week.
36 year-old Jerry Williams of Mobile, Alabama was arrested on St. Patrick's Day. Court documents say Williams was assaulting his fiancé outside the Best Western on 34th Avenue NW when her brother, Wesley Bennett, came to her defense. Investigators say during the confrontation, Williams pulled a knife and stabbed Bennett several times in the stomach.
Bennett's injuries were not life-threatening, and Williams was taken into custody shortly afterward. Williams is being held at the Polk County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
