Fireworks Sales Bill Passes Iowa Senate

(Des Moines, IA) -- An Iowa bill preventing local governments from restricting the sale of fireworks in industrial or commercial areas passes through the Senate. Opponents of the bill reportedly say city leaders would not be able to stop the businesses from selling in shopping areas that border residential buildings or near highly flammable businesses. The bill now goes to the House for consideration. Iowa legalized the sale and use of fireworks in 2017.
