(West Des Moines, IA) -- Traveling around the west portion of the Des Moines area is expected to be slightly more congested for the next two months. The Ashworth Road bridge over interstate-80 in West Des Moines is now closed through at least Memorial Day. The road is closed for construction to widen Ashworth from two lanes of traffic each way into five lanes. The closure of the bridge is expected to affect Jordan Creek Town Center traffic as well as I-35 south and I-235 westbound.
