(Undated) -- The Democratic National Committee is voting to end Iowa’s status as the first state to hold a caucus or primary. The DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee decided Wednesday to take away four state waivers for early nomination events. Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina all had exemptions allowing for primaries or caucuses before the rest of the country but not any longer. Any state is now able to submit an application for early voting waivers to be reviewed and granted including the guarantee of first in the nation. The Iowa Democratic Party is saying they will argue their case to remain in the early voting window.
