(Grinnell, IA) -- A semi truck crash and fire has shut down a stretch of I-80 between Newton and Grinnell east of Des Moines early Wednesday morning. Witnesses say a semi crashed into concrete highway barriers and caught fire, blocking the westbound lanes before 4:30 a.m. Iowa Department of Transportation had to direct Westbound Traffic off I-80 near Grinnell and head them to Kellogg. Witnesses say the driver made it out of the semi truck.
