(Omaha, NE) -- Researches at UNO say Omaha's economic recovery is still on track.

The report out of the economics department says the Omaha metro area's housing market and retail sales data have grown steadily since the start of the pandemic. They say job growth in the short term will be lead by construction in the area, but fields like wholesale trade and information services could see employee shortages for the next few years.

They say employment in Omaha has rebounded, but they don't expect employment levels to reach pre-pandemic numbers until 2023.
