(Bremer Co., IA) -- A 13th county in Iowa is being forced to destroy a flock of birds due to an avian flu.
The highly contagious strain of bird flu is being announced by the Iowa Department of Agriculture in Bremer County in northeast Iowa. This is the 17th outbreak of the virus in Iowa this year.
The first case in over two weeks is within a 30-thousand bird flock of commercial turkeys. Over 13 million birds in Iowa have been euthanized to attempt and slow the spread of the bird virus.
