(Ankeny, IA) -- Ankeny has recently been named the sixth largest city in Iowa and now has expanded borders. The city council is voting to annex a portion of northern Polk County along Interstate-35 on what was the northeast border of Ankeny. The new Ankeny portion of land is almost six-hundred-acres. Most of the homes currently built within the annexed area currently have addresses in Alleman and are part of the North Polk Community School District.
