(Omaha, NE) -- A 15 year old is charged in connection to a 2021 murder in North Omaha.
The Omaha Police Department's Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the Douglas County Attorney's Office, has charged 15-year-old Nowa Kawunda for the murder of Timothy Washington III. Washington was shot and killed near 39th and Ames on June 16, 2021.
Investigators say charges were also filed against Kawunda for the non-fatal shooting of Mack Johnson and a robbery from 2021. Kawunda is facing charges of 1st-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, robbery, two counts of shooting at an occupied dwelling/vehicle, and five counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony.
