(Bondurant, IA) -- Bondurant is having an open house this week to showcase its Building Bondurant Comprehensive Plan with residents. Planning & Community Development Director Maggie Murray says the development project covers land use, parks and recreation, natural resources, economic development, housing, community character, transportation, and infrastructure. It is a twenty to thirty-year project.
City Administrator Marketa Oliver says the goal is also to add roads to make it easier to travel around town. She says when the city puts a road in, that includes a trail next to it for pedestrians and bicyclists. The city also has a plan for a splash pad. Which it knows is a priority for many residents. The long term plan has a budget of just over $70-million dollars so far. About $35-million for this year.
The open house is Wednesday, June 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bondurant Community Library. Residents are invited to give their input and ask questions about the various options in the plan. Murray says people will be able to pop in and out during the open house at their leisure.
