(Iowa City, IA) -- More than 535 Iowa businesses are teaming up to raise awareness for human trafficking. Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate was in Iowa City Tuesday, talking to the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce about the Iowa Businesses Against Trafficking (IBAT) initiative.

Members of IBAT commit to 'Learn Something' about human trafficking, then 'Do Something' about it. Businesses taking action looks like a social media campaign, putting up posters about trafficking in their business, volunteering at a local organization, and more.

The program launched in January 2022. Further information about the initiative can be found here.
