The Sarpy County Board of Commissioners permanently appoints Trace Jones to the office of County Treasurer.
The board unanimously passes a resolution appointing Jones for the remainder of the current term, which ends in December.
Jones has served as interim Treasurer since April 2021, taking over after the County Board had removed previous Treasurer Brian Zuger from office over management issues.
Prior to his appointment, Jones was the county’s Veterans Service Officer.
Jones served for 28 years in the Air Force, retiring as Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 100th Air Refueling Wing.
Jones received his Bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University and his Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
