(Lincoln, NE) -- The Husker Football Program releases the first images of this season's alternate uniforms.
This year's alternates are a throwback to jerseys worn by the 1983 team, nicknamed "The Scoring Explosion." They feature mesh detail on the jerseys and bring back the red stripes down the leg of the pants, a look that was dropped when Head Coach Scott Frost took over the program. The University has not announced which game the alternate uniforms will be worn at yet, but last year the alternates were worn during the Oklahoma game. Nebraska takes on OU on September 17th this year in Lincoln.
