(Omaha, NE) -- The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a rise of scam phone calls.

The office says locals are receiving calls, seeming as if they're from the Sheriff's Office, requesting money over the phone. They say the caller will inform locals about missing jury duty or having a warrant out for their arrest.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office is reminding the public the office will never request money or payment over the phone. Any scam calls should be reported at (402) 593-2288.
