DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa voters who want to cast an early or absentee ballot can start the process.
The Secretary of State's office says state law lets voters ask for absentee ballots 70 days before an election.
County auditors will start mailing ballots to those who requested them starting October 19--that's also the first day Iowans can vote in-person for the November 8th General Election.
Absentee ballot request forms are available on the Secretary of State’s website.
Voters need to download the form and mail it to their county auditor.
