(Iowa City, IA) -- It will be red vs. blue in Iowa City this week....but not Republicans vs. Democrats.
Members of the Iowa City Police Department and the Iowa City Fire Department will square off on the softball diamond on Thursday, September 8th in a Battle of the Badges fundraising game. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm at Mercer Park. The game is free to attend, and donations are welcome. Proceeds will go toward the Iowa City Firefighter's Benevolent Association and the Iowa City Police Department's Association/Peer Support Team.
The event will include a bake sale and grilled food.
