(Omaha, NE) -- The Nebraska Secretary of State's Office schedules public hearings for locals to learn about the two ballot initiatives on the state's election ballot this November.
Public hearings will be held in Omaha, Lincoln, and North Platte on a Voter ID Amendment and a Minimum Wage Statute. The Voter ID Constitutional Amendment would require Nebraska residents to present valid ID to vote and the Minimum Wage Initiative would raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2026.
The dates and locations for the scheduled hearings are as follows:
- October 6th, North Platte - Minimum Wage Initiative hearing from 1-4 p.m. and the Voter ID Amendment 4-7 p.m. at Mid-Plains Community College South Campus, McDonald Belton Theater, 601 W. State Farm Road
- October 11th, Omaha - Voter ID Amendment from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Thompson Alumni Center, 6705 Dodge Street
- October 18th, Lincoln - Minimum Wage Initiative hearing from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and the Voter ID Amendment 6-9 p.m. at Nebraska State Capitol, Room 1525
