Omaha City Council Signs Off On Development 'TIF' Funding

The Omaha City Council approves nearly 14 million dollars in tax increment financing for three development projects.

The proposals will rehabilitate the historic Keeline Building downtown at 17th and Harney, develop a 102-unit affordable housing complex at Kennedy Square East, and include the historically significant 4629 Dodge Street "Pittman Building" in a five-story, 329-unit apartment building development.

The "TIF" loans from the City of Omaha will cover expenses such as site work, architecture and engineering costs, and other public improvements.

The total estimated cost for the projects is more than 125 million dollars.
