A week before the Thanksgiving holiday, Wind Chill numbers just below zero came into play Friday morning with more winter-like temperatures in the Omaha/Council Bluffs region.
The Omaha office of the National Weather Service says there will be slight improvement on Saturday as the winds will be slightly weaker and temperatures will be a couple of degrees warmer.
The forecasters in Valley say a warmer period will begin on Sunday and is expected to last through at least Wednesday of next week as the first round of holiday season travel will be going on.
