(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines Police Officer is on leave after a drunk driving arrest.
Officer Angel Danniel Aguilar Perez is a five year veteran on the force.
He was arrested Sunday by West Des Moines Police and charged with first offense Operating While Intoxicated as well as possession of a dangerous weapon while under the influence.
In a news released the Des Moines Police Department said Perez is on administrative leave while the arrest and charges are investigated.
