(Omaha, NE) -- A murder suspect is arrested in connection to an Omaha woman's shooting death.
Omaha Police say on Tuesday, the Omaha Metro Fugitive Task Force arrested 25 year old Imhotep Davis on charges of 2nd degree murder, 1st degree felony assault, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a firearm on school grounds, and tampering with evidence. Davis is being charged in connection to a November 13th shooting near 33rd and Ames that killed 20 year old Karly Wood, and injured seven other people, including Davis himself.
Davis is already facing other charges in the case including gun possession on school property, tampering with evidence, and gun possession by prohibited person. Police say 28 year old Tyvel Lampkin-Davis and 25 year old Kiwan Dampeer are also facing gun charges in the case.
Update: Statement from Chief Schmaderer: "It is imperative OPD pieces together what took place so resolve can come for the victims and their families. At this point in the investigation, an after-hours party was occurring and a confrontation took place resulting in gunfire. There is no indication it was a random shooting.
Extra OPD resources are being utilized and police presence will increase for the time being."

The OPD Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting that injured seven people, and resulted in one death early Sunday at 33rd and Ames Avenue. Uniform Patrol officers responded to the shooting call at 3347 Ames Avenue at 4:08 a.m. and located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds. OFD medics transported both victims to the Nebraska Medical Center. One victim died at the hospital.
Six additional victims arrived by private vehicle at the Nebraska Medical Center and CUMC-Bergan Mercy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
