(Des Moines, IA) -- I-35 is closed from Ames to Clear Lake in Iowa because of dangerous road conditions. The Department of Transportation says the stretch of Interstate-35 will be reopened some time Saturday Morning.
Travel is not advised in much of Northwest and North Central Iowa, and in East Central Iowa around Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
I-80 in Western Iowa is in partially snow covered condition from Des Moines to Council Bluffs and into Omaha, Nebraska.
In Eastern Iowa I-80 conditions decline around Iowa City.
In the Quad Cities area both the Iowa and Illinois Departments of Transportation report roads are partially ice and snow covered.
