(Saunders County, NE) -- A car chase in Saunders County ends with two rollover crashes.
The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office says the pursuit began after a driver fled an attempted traffic stop on Highway 79 near Country Road N. The driver lost control of his vehicle and rolled into a field.
Then, the deputy lost control of the cruiser, which crashed into a creek and caught fire. The Sheriff's Office says the deputy was seriously injured and remains in the hospital.
The suspect, 26-year-old Dustin Hayes, was treated for minor injuries.
He was arrested and is being held at Saunders County Corrections.
The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the incident.
