(Urbandale, IA) -- A Clinic for patients with treatment-resistant depression is moving to West Des Moines due to growing demand.
Ketamine was first approved as an anesthetic by the FDA in 1970, and later recognized as a treatment for depression after a 2006 landmark study published by the National Institute of Mental Health.
The treatment needs to be prescribed by a doctor.
The Iowa Ketamine Clinic plans to move by next month.
It offers both nasal-spray and in IV treatment.
