The Omaha Office of the National Weather Service says a "winter storm watch" will begin Wednesday morning at six and will run until Thursday morning for areas including Omaha/Council Bluffs, and Lincoln.
Portions of southeast, east central, and northeast Nebraska, plus southwest, and west central Iowa;
Forecasters say chances are increasing for four to seven inches of snow in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro.
The National Weather Service says the heaviest snow is expected to hit the area Wednesday afternoon and evening.
They say rain could also be in the mix in far southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.
Higher snowfall amounts are expected in central Nebraska.
