(Ankeny, IA) -- The City of Ankeny has hired Vance Swisher as its new fire chief.
Swisher replaces James Clark who retired in December.
Swisher is currently the deputy fire chief for the City of Rochester, Minnesota.
He also served as fire marshal and deputy director of emergency management.
Prior to his work in Minnesota, Swisher worked for several years in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Fire Department.
He'll begin the job February 20th.
