(Dubuque, IA) -- Residents of Dubuque are dealing with 5-to-nearly-7 inches of wet, heavy snow after this latest round of winter. The National Weather Service says a location in Jones County received 4 inches of snow. Most locations in eastern Iowa received 2-3 inches.
A Winter Storm Warning for Dubuque, Jones, Jackson, Cedar, Clinton, and Jo Daviess counties will expire at 6 p.m. (Thursday).
The National Weather Service says drivers should expect slick roads and windy conditions, with wind gusting as high as 35 mph in east central and northeast Iowa and northwest Illinois.
Iowa DOT crews have made good progress throughout the day clearing snow. Highways near Dubuque have improved but may still be partly snow-covered with some slick spots.
