(Polk County, IA) -- Polk County's Extreme Temperature Weather Plan is in effect.
The County's Emergency Management Agency says the plan will remain was activated Wednesday and will remain in effect through Friday, February 17th. During this time, Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority Buses will be providing free rides to warming centers throughout the Des Moines metro area. A list of warming centers throughout the area is available on the Polk County website.
