(Webster County, IA) -- Two dozen wind turbines were shut down in Webster County last weekend after the blade flew off one of the turbines.
MidAmerican Energy says the 174-foot long blade landed in a farm field Saturday in Webster County, northwest of Des Moines.
No one was hurt.
MidAmerican says the utility company has more than three-thousand-400 wind turbines in Iowa, and has had less than ten problems with blades breaking or separating over the past decade.
The nearby wind turbines were inspected before being put back online.
