(Mount Vernon, IA) -- The Linn County Sheriff's Department says one man is in custody after leading deputies on a car chase, swiping into a house, and then trying to flee on foot.

Officers from the Linn County Sheriff's Department and the Mount Vernon Police Department received reports of suspicious activity a little before 8:30 Monday night. Investigators say officers located the suspect's car on Highway 30 near Honey Grove. The suspect then fled the scene, leading officers on a chase along Highway 30. At one point, investigators say the car veered off the highway and side-swiped a house in the 4000 block of Highway 30. The suspect then got out of the car and tried to run from the scene.

With help from the Cedar Rapids Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol, the suspect, 24 year-old Kyle Netolciky, was taken into custody. He's facing multiple charges.

No one was hurt in the incident, and both the house and the car sustained only minor damage.
