(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Police Department is warning residents of a scam targeting grandparents.
Police say the scammers claim the person's grandchild is in trouble and needs emergency money asking for the payment over an ATM Transfer or digital service.
CRPD says the calls can be convincing as scammers often mock a local number.
