(Des Moines, IA) -- Street lights statewide are turning a purple/blue color.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says it installed LED lightbulbs with a white coating in lights across the state five years ago.
That coating is now starting to flake off giving the light a blue/purple color.
The DOT says the bulbs are under warranty and it’s working on replacing them statewide.
