Arrest Made In Omaha Assault

Omaha Police were called to the area of 92nd Avenue and Blondo Street early this morning to look into a report of a stabbing.

Officers spoke with 22-year old Mathy Kiala, who said she had been stabbed in the neck, and the suspect ran away before police arrived.

Police say the suspect, identified as 21 Apoline Wasingya, was found at her residence and taken into custody.

During the investigation, detectives say Wasingya admitted to stabbing the victim.

Wasingya was booked for second degree assault and use of a weapon, a knife, to commit a felony.
