The first round of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Tournament is this weekend on campus sites, and 17th ranked Omaha is hosting one of the series after UNO finished third in the conference regular season.
The Mavericks are hosting North Dakota in the best-of three series at UNO's Baxter Arena.
The Fighting Hawks placed 6th in the regular season;
Game One face off is tonight at 7:07, with Game Two Saturday night at the same time.
If necessary, Game Three will be Sunday at 6:07 p.m.
The series winner will advance to the conference "Frozen Face Off" semi's and finals next weekend at the "Xcel Energy Center" in St. Paul, the famed home of the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild and the Minnesota High School Hockey Tournament.
The winner of the NCHC Tournament secures the conference's autobid to the NCAA Mens' Hockey Tournament.
