(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Area Religious Council is using March Madness to raise money to fight food insecurity. DMARC Marketing and Communications Manager Blake Willadsen says the goal is to raise money for the non-profit's food banks.

"One of the easiest ways to support us with the spring here is DMARCh Madness," says Willadsen. "It's a fun way to fill out your bracket while also supporting the work we do and putting some food on the shelves."

All you have to do is make a $20 donation and fill out a March Madness bracket and you'll be entered to win a number of prizes.

"Anyone who enters a bracket is going to be entered for a chance to win two tickets for Thursday's NCAA men's first round tournament games," says Willadsen. "Those two tickets are worth about $500."

It's not all about basketball though. DMARC is using the opportunity to assist 15 different food pantries across the Des Moines area. DMARC says each $20 donation will help support about 25 healthy meals on its shelves.

You can make a donation and fill out your bracket at dmarcunited.org. You can also fill out a bracket in person Tuesday at Big Grove Brewing at 555 17th Street. There will be chances win prizes at the event including free drink tickets, a night out at Teehee’s Comedy Club, a Big Grove Brewing merchandise package, a hotel stay at Holiday Inn, gift certificate to Gusto, and other items.
