The Omaha Police Department says its officers will carry out an overtime, alcohol selective overtime enforcement operation starting today through Saturday, coinciding with St. Patrick's Day and the start of the NCAA Basketball Tournaments.
The operations are funded through a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation to help reduce fatal and serious injury crashes related to excessive alcohol use.
Law enforcement reminds those celebrating St. Patrick's Day and hoops to be safe, and if you have been drinking, have a designated driver, or use a rideshare, taxi or public transportation.
