Iowa Woman Charged With Arson In Store Fire

(Waukon, IA) -- A northeast Iowa woman has been charged with arson more than one year after a fire at a home goods store in Waukon. Investigators say February 13th, 2022, police and fire were called to a fire at Tin, Rust & Harmony in Waukon. A criminal complaint states that 43-year-old Mindy Jo Jones had a financial motive to destroy the building and business. Investigators tell Iowa's News Now fires were intentionally set at two locations.

Jones was arrested March 13, 2023. She's charged with 1st Degree Arson and animal abuse for the death of a dog in the fire.

The Iowa State Fire Marshall’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa DCI Lab, the ATF, and the Allamakee County Attorney’s Office in investigating the fire.
