Thanks to a gift from the "Corporal Daegan Page Foundation" to the Omaha Parks Foundation, Motto McLean Ice Arena at Hitchcock Park in South Omaha has a new state of the art scoreboard.
It replaces an outmoded timer used for decades;
A dedication of the Corporal Daegan Page Memorial Scoreboard and celebration will be held on Sunday, March 26th, at 4:15 p.m. with complementary skating and refreshments.
Omahan Daegan Page enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2018.
He was a member of 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and had a passion for hockey, which he started playing as a child.
Corporal Page made the ultimate sacrifice for his country when he and 12 other service members were attacked by a terrorist in August, 2021 in Kabul, Afghanistan.
