(Rock Island, IL) --Rock Island is opening applications for the new home rehabilitation program soon.
The Illinois Housing Development Authority awarded Rock Island $300,000 as part of the Home Repair and Accessibility Program.
Rehab includes anything from roofing repairs to fixing plumbing, those with low to moderate income are eligible to apply.
IHDA says about $45,000 can be spent per home, but if repairs are more expensive, residents can apply for more money from the city.
The city hopes to start rehabbing homes by late spring 2023.
