(Des Moines, IA) -- Flags will fly at half-staff sunset on Friday, April 7th to honor Willard “Sandy” Boyd who served as the University of Iowa’s president from 1969 to 1981. Boyd also served as interim president in 2002 and 2003. Boyd was also a member of the University of Iowa law faculty.
Willard "Sandy" Boyd died December 13, 2022 in Iowa City at the age of 95. Boyd dedicated a majority of his life to the University of Iowa.
Boyd's memorial service is Friday, April 7th, 2023 at 2 p.m. in Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City.
