(Lincoln, NE) -- Nebraska lawmakers pass a permitless concealed carry bill.
On Wednesday, state senators passed the bill on a vote of 33-14, with two senators not voting. The bill allows Nebraskans over the age of 21 to carry a concealed gun without having to have a permit or take a gun safety class. Previous Nebraska law required both in order to conceal carry in the state.
The bill now heads to Governor Jim Pillen's desk for his signature. Pillen is expected to sign the bill into law. The law would take effect 90 days following the end of the current Unicameral session, which would be late August or early September.
