(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Connect CR has released new renderings of the Alliant Energy LightLine pedestrian bridge. The 23-foot-wide bridge will connect NewBo and Czech Village. The project will feature a 165-foot tower and plazas on both sides of the Cedar River.
The Alliant Energy LightLine pedestrian bridge will connect the east side and west side of Cedar Rapids, spanning the Cedar River at the site of an old railroad bridge that was wiped out in the historic flood of 2008.
Work on the project is expected to start in 2024 and be completed by 2025.
