(Des Moines, IA) -- Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for several counties due to severe weather Sunday.
Counties under the proclamation include: Benton, Iowa, Jasper, Muscatine, and Poweshiek. Thunderstorms Sunday evening through early Monday morning featured wind gusts of up to 80 mph, baseball size hail, and a couple inches of rain.
The proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Management Program for those counties.
