(Rock Island, IL) -- Sunset Marina in Rock Island could get $4 million for improvements.
City planners presented a plan that would upgrade docks and electrical, downsize the marina to fit peak usage better, and allow for dredging cleanup.
Most of the funding for the project would come from $1.4 million in FEMA grants and $976,000 in ARPA money.
If approved, construction on the project is expected to begin in early 2024.
The plan still needs to be passed by the Rock Island city council.
