(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines is named a top 50 city to start a career in. That's according to WalletHub, which ranks Des Moines 41st compared to the 182 largest cities in the country. WalletHub says it used 26 key metrics to make its rankings, from quality of life to housing affordability and average starting salary. Des Moines' best category is affordable housing, coming in at 3rd. Cedar Rapids also makes the list at 59th overall, and ranking 1st in affordable housing. WalletHub says the best city to start a career in is Atlanta, Georgia and the worst is New York City. A full list of cities is available here.
