(Marshalltown, IA) -- The Marshalltown Police Department says an investigation is underway after a police car hit a 4 year-old child during patrol.
Police say Officer David Danielson struck the child while on a routine patrol a little before 6:30pm Saturday. The 4 year-old boy was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. The child was treated and released and is scheduled for a medical follow-up later this week.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
