(Pleasant Valley, IA) -- The auxiliary lock at Locks and Dam 14 in Pleasant Valley will open Friday. This means the Mississippi River will be open for boating traffic in the Quad Cities area. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the lock will be open from 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. on Fridays and from noon-10:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until September 5th.
