(Fort Dodge, IA) -- Fort Dodge Police are investigating a man shot and killed after reportedly breaking into a resident's garage.
Police say they received a call this morning where the resident told them he shot a person breaking into his garage.
When crews arrived they found the man unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are working to figure out what lead up to the shooting.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is also following up on the case.
