After years of discussion, planning, and construction, the Douglas County Juvenile Justice Center in downtown Omaha officially opens.
The facility at 17th and Harney Streets will focus on families and children and will be connected to the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center by a skywalk over Harney, which goes into the courthouse building known as the "Hall of Justice."
The justice center will house the County Attorney and Public Defender's offices and the Juvenile Court.
