(Storm Lake, IA) -- An Iowa teenager is accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill a child.
The Storm Lake Police Department said a 17-year-old girl tried to use rentahitman.com--a parody website--to put a hit on a 7-year-old. Police got a report from the fake website about the request.
An undercover cop reached out to the teen about the hit and confirmed the request was a credible threat to the child. On June 2, police arrested the 17-year-old, charging her with solicitation to commit murder.
Police say the child and their family are unharmed and unaware of the potential threat.
